David Bowie Estate is dropping a bunch of Bowie NFTs dubbed “Bowie on the Blockchain”, but they are bringing Marmite vibes—you will either love or hate it.
As you are most likely aware, David Bowie passed away in January 2016 due to liver cancer.

But how did this Bowie-themed Web3 project come about in the first place?
The David Bowie Estate collaborated with the Web3 company “We Love the Arts” to design the project. The founders then chose nine artists to complete the designs before the minting process takes place on September 13th.
To ensure the NFT artwork suits the musical legend, all artists—Nadya Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot, Fewocious, Jake, Defaced, Osinachi, Young and Sick, Lirona, Glam Beckett, and Jonathan Wolfe—researched which styles of artworks made Bowie tick.

Nonetheless, regardless of NFTs, people continuously take to Twitter to discuss these digital assets—whether good or bad.
While none of us can know whether Bowie would be thankful for this particular collection of NFTs, it’s helpful to look into the type of person the British singer was. Like the artists did.
Bowie was an avid admirer and collector of art, like many other musical legends.
