Adidas’s First Wearable NFT Collection Allows You To Dress and Undress Your Bored Ape

Adidas is launching a new NFT collection called Virtual Gear. This wearable NFT collection has a unique feature where the owners can use a dressing tool. At present, only two NFT collections are compatible, including BAYC and Mutant Ape Yacht Club. In the earlier development, the owners could remove the dressing from their PFP character. But with the new tool, they can also use the dressing tool to give new clothes to the PFPs.

Quick Take:

  • A limited-edition 16-piece digital wearable Adidas NFT collection is coming out on the Ethereum blockchain.
  • The Virtual Gear collection marks the beginning of a new concept in the Web3 and NFT space.
  • The new collection will benefit the value creators and will help support the style, culture, and diversity of expression.

“We’re laying down a marker in this new age of originality. One that unquestionably serves the community, heroes the purveyors and collectors of emerging style and culture, benefits the value creators, and supports the diversity of expression and utility that blurring virtual worlds has allowed us all to explore.”

The Dressing Tool for Adidas NFT Will Release in the Following Week

The users can buy the virtual gear collection from OpenSea. However, those who already own one of the Capsule NFTs will get a randomized piece of Virtual Gear. The owners can use these virtual gear pieces from the Adidas NFT collection to dress their PFPs and NFT avatars.

The ‘Virtual Gear’ collection is also interoperable, which means it can be shifted between metaverses. This makes it ready to adapt and respond to today’s rapidly changing and expanding web3 landscape.

However, those getting the Virtual Gear NFT must burn their existing Capsule NFT to reveal its contents. But, these owners can also wait for Phase 3 and hold on to their Virtual Gear. For those who don’t own the original Adidas Originals: Capsule NFT, pieces from the Virtual Gear collection are available to buy at the secondary market on Opensea beginning November 16th.

The Virtual Gear capsule collection consists of jackets or hoodies of various types, including WALLRUNNER quilted jackets made of 3D layered trefoils made of towelling, inflatable style PFD (That’s Personal Floatation Device) puffers, and NEOBONE tops inspired by the rubberized sole pattern of the Adidas Superstar sneaker.

Out of the 16-piece collection, three are very rare. These rare Adidas NFT wearables highlight Adidas’s collaborations with BAYC, GMoney, and Punks Comics. Adidas is stating that these three NFTs are equivalent to the mythological Golden Fleece in the Web3 world.

The hyper-futuristic collection combines exceptional creativity with Adidas’ trademark uniqueness.
