Fresh Details About ‘Legends of the Mara’
Yuga Labs recently teased its Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) community with more exciting news about its 2D web-based game, Legends of the Mara.
The team behind the esteemed NFT project achieved such goals by posting a tweet accompanying a blog full of juicy details in light of their upcoming Litepaper:
One of the main points the blog touches upon is that players must hold at least one Otherdeed Expanded NFT along with another. This includes a Koda, Kodamara, Mara, or Vessel. All Otherdeed holders can claim a Vessel per each NFT they own. Such Vessels will either be Hunting, Farming, or Enchanting types.
All players must choose their Vessels wisely. This is because only one Vessel can be nested on any Otherdeed Expanded. Yuga Labs will reveal more details about this via their upcoming Litepaper.
For now, one fact is for sure: Vessels with the Enchanter trait and Enchanter Mara play a unique role in the game. Therefore, are worth keeping an eye out for.
Exploring Kodas and Maras
Yuga Labs first revealed Legends of the Mara at the end of March, following the success of its play-to-earn game, Dookey Dash. The game delves into the origin of Kodas, alongside their profound relationship to the environment — opening up a unique story in the Otherside metaverse.
Kodas are primary guardians of the Otherside world and are findable on certain Otherdeed NFTs. Players can decide whether or not they want to keep Kodas from their NFTs, which plays a massive part in the game.
Moreover, another important aspect is Legends of the Mara’s introduction to Maras. Maras are otherworldly creatures that hatch from Vessels after a certain incubation period — all of which have unique roles. These NFTs are distinct from Vessels and are ERC-721 tokens. Thus, are a part of an entirely new contract/NFT collection. Once Maras emerge from their Vessels, players can decide whether or not to trade or sell them on other platforms, opening up crypto-making opportunities and new adventures.
Although more information will reveal throughout the coming weeks, the metaverse’s mechanics will certainly evolve; players can earn new entitlements, upgrade their current ones, and develop elements depending on their gaming performances.
