VeeFriends Release Collectible Characters Exclusively for Macy’s and Toys “R” Us

At the last Christie’s auction, VeeFriends grabbed more than $300 million. Gary Vaynerchuk started making them on paper and then switched to NFTs. The cute hand-made doodles are now coming to the Macy’s toy chain, Toys “R” Us. Here, the same doodles will be sold as toys across the USA.

Quick Take:

  • The popular collection is coming to Macy’s and its Toys “R” Us stores.
  • With a $50 million funding round, the Series 2 of VeeFriends NFTs will come out.
  • VeeFriends is Gary Vaynerchuk’s hand-drawn doodles NFT collection on the Ethereum Blockchain.

Toys “R” Us is Relaunching with VeeFriends in All Macy’s Locations

The VeeFriends doodles consist of 10 different characters that form its NFT collection as well. These NFTs are designed in collaboration with toy and entertainment startup Toikido. The characters include Practical Peacock, Willful Wizard, Patient Panda, etc. all these are randomly packed in blind boxes.

These toys will start selling in Toys “R” Us from the 17th of October. Simultaneously, the toy store is undergoing a relaunching process. With this move, VeeFriends will get a new platform as well.

After shutting down due to bankruptcy proceedings, the Toys “R” Us relaunch has a special meaning. Gary Vaynerchuck holds this deal closer to the heart because of the entrepreneur’s association with the brand.

The new collection has a better finish and polished look than the previous collection. This one has more cartoon-like finesse. Gary Vaynerchuk created VeeFriends as a simple but inspirational content platform. However, today it is transitioning to become a multimedia platform.

“If you asked me a year ago, I would say VeeFriends is an NFT company. Today, I think of VeeFriends as a transmedia or multimedia company where we’re doing stories in all forms and fashions. Any form or medium in which we can bring to life if you will, the characters and traits that we’re hoping to inspire in others.

Expanding the Brand with NFT Project

Another motive for launching the Series 2 of the NFT collection is to market the product and brand. Amidst a rough overall market, the $50 million seed funding VeeFriends has received will be used to expand.

Furthermore, the project’s team will also reward the NFT holders with free products. These will include toys and other collaborations, including apparel.
