Earlier this week, popular American drink brand, Neuro bought a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT for just over $1 Million.
Quick Take:
- The drink brand purchased BAYC #8585 for 777 ETH (~$1M)
- Neuro is owned by Sanela Diana Jenkins, one of the stars of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
- Jenkins acts as CEO
The purchase is now one of the largest NFT sales ever. Something the brand proudly announced in an official press release on October 3rd. The Bored Ape that was purchased possess the traits Trippy Fur and King’s Crown, both traits that are present in less than 1% of Bored Apes according to the top NFT rarity tools.
According to Founder and CEO, Sanela Diana Jenkins:
I started Neuro in the great financial crisis of 2008/2009. The NFT market is scared, and fear affects the market in a negative way. I believe in the future of NFTs and Bored Apes and want to empower the NFT community. This Bored Ape is gorgeous and perfectly aligns with Neuro’s beautiful, bold approach to life”
A visit to Neuro’s Twitter page will show a huge focus on NFTs, a testament to Jenkins’ public interest in NFTs and Web3.
The Bored Ape is now being held in a wallet titled ‘DrinkNeuro-Vault’. The wallet contains 5 other NFTs from smaller collections, all of which were purchased by Neuro in the past 3 weeks.
The Ape was purchased from user Surov_, a collector that now owns 4 BAYC NFTs.
Last year, the drink company did approximately $80 Million in revenue. The brand’s primary products are flavored drinks that promote feelings of relaxation, energy, and clarity. Neuro was founded by the reality TV star in late 2008.
