One of the most reputed musicians in the world, AR Rahman, announces the launch of a new metaverse platform, Katraar. Moreover, the metaverse platform will allow musicians and artists alike to upload their works and monetize them. The artist shared the announcement on the social media channel with a humorous caption.

Quick Take:

  • AR Rahman announces the launch of a metaverse platform Katraar, which is under development.
  • The launch announcement clashes with the world-renowned artist’s birthday.
  • Musicians and artists can upload their works on the platform directly and earn money from the same.

A Dedicated Platform for Musicians and Artists

The Katraar metaverse platform will also have some of the original works of the artist. As the platform develops and popularizes, it will see the works of several globally acclaimed artists. Furthermore, AR Rahman has worked on titles like Roja, Dil Se, Bombay, etc. These works and many others have also received prestigious awards like the Oscars (two), Padma Bhushan, and six National Film Awards.

AR Rahman’s tweet says, “I’m excited to announce today – KATRAAR, the #metaverse platform currently in development, is one step closer to launching. And I look forward to sharing this journey with you all.”

AR Rahman’s platform is one of the first initiatives of this kind in India. On the platform, artists and musicians can monetize their work. Also, the Katraar platform will run on the Hedera Network.

Katraar Follows in the Footsteps of Jupiter Meta

Before Katraar, another musician and artist, Karthik launched music NFTs. Karthik’s music NFT collection launched on April 14. At that time, these NFTs were made available on Jupiter Meta, which is India’s first NFT marketplace.

Due to this, musicians and artists will find an arena to connect with their fans and earn money. They can upload music videos and encourage ownership along with giving them financial flexibility. It will give the listeners a better way to promote their favourite artists.

The Three Phases of the Platform

Last year, the Grammy Winner also released his debut NFT collection along with HBAR Foundation to focus on India’s independent music community.
