Fast and Furious NFTs Releasing to Celebrate New Movie

Fast and Furious and Mattel, are set to release a new set of NFTs to celebrate the launch of the latest movie in the popular movie series: ‘Fast X’. They will be launched on one of the industry’s top trending blockchains, Flow. It is set to be titled ‘Hot Wheels NFT Garage x Fast & Furious’ upon the May 22 release date.

Quick Takes

  • Mattel is releasing a new collection of Hot Wheels NFTs based on the Fast & Furious franchise.
  • The NFTs will be available for purchase on the Flow Blockchain for $20 per pack.
  • Holders of the entire set can receive a physical model of Suki’s car from 2 Fast 2 Furious.

About the Fast and Furious NFT Collection

To go alongside with the debut of the latest feature in the Fast and Furious series, worldwide toy maker Mattel are releasing a brand new collection as a part of their Hot Wheels run of NFTs. This, a perfect collaboration given the nature of the film.

The NFT launch from the expected blockbuster will take place on May 22. It comes three days after the initial release of the movie.

The upcoming Hot Wheels NFT Garage x Fast and Furious collection will depict a number of the fans’ favourite characters’ cars from the ten-film franchise. These include Dom Toretto’s (Vin Diesel) 1970 Dodge Charger, arguably the most iconic vehicle in the series.

Above all, each of the limited edition token packs will be sold for $20 apiece. Of course, this rate is a fraction of the price of a Honda, Nissan, or Toyota in which you’d see in the Fast franchise.

Interestingly, in a similar way to Mattel’s previous drops, the owners of these NFTs will be able to also own a physical model version of Suki’s (played by Devon Aoki – NFT superfan Steve Aoki’s sister) famous Honda S2000. They will be able to get this only if they collect the entirety of the released cars.

The choice of blockchain, Flow, reflects the toy company’s previous collections, as well as huge entities like Dapper Labs, and their NFL and NBA NFTs.

The New Flick: Fast X

The Fast & Furious franchise is back with its tenth installment, Fast X. The film is directed by Louis Leterrier, famous for films such as ‘The Incredible Hulk’ and ‘Now You See Me’. It stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jason Momoa, in a star-studded casting.

To clarify, the anticipated movie releases in theatres around the world tomorrow, May 19. The premieres around the globe have already taken place.

Undoubtedly, the movie will be filled with high-intensity action, drama, alongside car crashes and chases. However, hopefully the NFT launch will be a lot smoother sailing.
