‘Unbox The Impossible’: What We Know Thus Far
All holders of Adidas’ Capsule NFTs will receive a surprise in just over a week, on November 16, providing they are entering Phase 2.
To hype collectors, Adidas-owned Bored Ape NFT Indigo Hertz revealed the new Web3 initiative on Twitter a few days ago:
Indigo Hertz also took to Twitter to talk about Adidas’ upcoming Web3 journey:
“New look, fresh strategy, a visualization of what’s next is on its way. Over the coming days, the world will see where we are headed with the support of Adidas Originals and our partners. The future is serious fun.”
So far, all we know is that “the unboxing” of the Capsule collection will occur as the NFTs evolve into Phase 2.
About Adidas’ NFTs – Phase 1 and Phase 2
To understand Phase 2, it’s important to note that Phase 1 included NFTs that claim merch, whereas Phase 2 gives collectors entrance to Adidas’ metaverse and other rewards.
Although, there was a catch. Those wanting access to Phase 2 must burn their Phase 1 NFTs to claim physical and digital goods—providing they paid a gas fee in ETH.
Phase 2 collectors—who have proof of burning their Phase 1 NFTs via screenshots—currently receive mysterious capsules via an airdrop.
Shortly, they can also “Unbox The Impossible” (whatever that means).
