NFT restaurants connect food and crypto lovers together while pushing those in the food industry to think outside the box

NFT restaurants are serving up something new. Although rather than that “something new” being one of those quirky salads that include mango and chili, they are handing out non-fungible tokens. And, no, they are not edible.

Many food organizations use NFTs to act as memberships or issue customers rewards, like a free drink or private experience. The advantages of these types of digital assets are limitless.

So, check out what these NFT restaurants bring to the table:

Chotto Matte (Worldwide)

The Chotto Matte restaurant chain began issuing NFTs dubbed “The Founder” alongside its famous Japanese food.

The digital assets give holders access to all restaurant openings, vineyard and distillery visits, and private experiences with the restaurant’s executive chef.

Following the popularity of the NFTs, chefs Tom Colicchio and Spike Mendelsohn also launched a collection of 8,888 pizza-themed NFTs named CHFTY Pizzas.

The tokens give users access to exclusive events, including access to an “intimate cellar area” and company merchandise.

Due to offering unique experiences, these digital are not cheap. They start at around $8,000 each, with The Founder collectibles costing up to $1 million.

Camboflare (USA, Minnesota)

CamboFlare is a restaurant based in Minnesota which serves up Native Asian and American dishes, like grilled pork tacos and king oysters.

The restaurant believes it is the first of its kind to create its very own token used for payment in such places:

It created Cambocoin to simplify the process of customer payments. Although, it also accepts Bitcoin, Ethereum and Dogecoin.

FlyFish Club (USA, New York)

Chef Josh Capon joins forces with entrepreneurs David Rodolitz and Gary Vaynerchuk to create the “first-ever NFT restaurant”, the Flyfish Club.

NFT holders will receive unlimited access to a private seafood restaurant in New York City once it opens next year, alongside exclusive digital and in-person events.

All 1,500 NFTs released to the public sold out within just a few minutes, with prices ranging from around $8,000 to $14,000. Although, resale values of the digital assets are double the amounts.

Consequently, only NFT holders can access this swanky new dining area that will span 10,000+ square feet in an iconic New York City location. Hence, the steep prices for the NFTs.

Goi Rolls (UAE, Jumeirah)

Goi Rolls is the first NFT restaurant in the United Arab Emirates to create unique Vietnamese summer rolls in the Web3 sphere.

Users can claim 50% of an NFTs value in exchange for real-life food at the restaurant based in Jumeirah.

The food sold at GOI entails gourmet rice paper rolls and Vietnamese delicacies such as Pho, Goiyoza, and Bao Buns for vegans and meat eaters.

All dishes have unique names which can be viewed on the non-fungible tokens for users to identify and utilize.

Due to wanting to make a few more last-minute tweaks, the restaurant has shut down until further notice. So, keep a lookout for the new launch date.

Bored & Hungry (USA, California)

Kevin Seo, the co-founder of Bored & Hungry, designed the world’s first NFT restaurant in Long Beach, California.

The restaurant’s signature logo includes a Bored Ape, representing one of the most significant NFT collections circling the crypto market.

Moreover, the restaurant marks the first concept from the world’s first NFT group-owned restaurant, Food Fighter’s Universe, which is also working towards creating an “immersive retail dessert experience” called Dr. Bombay’s Sweet Exploration with NFT enthusiast Snoop Dogg.

The restaurant accepts crypto and FIAT for payments, and issues NFTs as reward in exchange, such as free food and tickets to local music festivals.

Crypto Street Restuarant (USA, Florida)

Crypto Street Restaurant is, yes, you guessed it, a crypto-themed restaurant. The food place opened in 2021 in Clearwater Beach, Florida, offering various foods influenced by Native America, South America and Spain.

Despite the vast menu which touches upon different cultures, each dish relates to popular cryptocurrencies. For instance, the sandwiches go by the name “Crypto Cuban”, and the hotdogs are called “Dogedog”.

The restaurant owner designed the food place to get more people into crypto by “raising awareness and driving away misconceptions.” To achieve such goals, the restaurant features many images of famous NFTs.

DogeBurger (Dubai, E-Commerce)

Dogeburger marks Dubai’s first crypto-related restaurant. The burger house allows customers across the UAE to order burgers and other fast food using crypto for payments.

Launched in February this year, the online retail e-commerce restaurant makes ordering Dogecoin-themed food simple.

On the plus side, the restaurant issues quick and easy deliveries packaged in all things Dogecoin.

Customers can pay for the foods using the cryptocurrencies Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB), Dogecoin (DOGE), cronos (CRO), Shiba Inu (SHIBA) and Ripple (XRP).

Welly’s (Italy, Napoli)

Welly’s is the first Shiba-Inu-inspired fast-food chain. The Napoli, Italy restaurant launched in February 2022, selling fast food, like burgers and fries.

All food items represent the Ethereum-based altcoin, SHIB, showcasing the cryptocurrencies hunting dog mascot on the packaging.

The restaurant runs on SHIB blockchain technology and aims to raise awareness of the blockchain technology.

Lion’s Milk Coffeeshop (USA, New York)

Lion’s Milk Coffeeshop is a profile picture NFT (PFP NFT) cafe in New York. Thus, it comes as no surprise the restaurant displays numerous types of PFP NFTs.

The coffee shop commits to solely receiving crypto in exchange for coffee and cakes and hosts numerous events for blockchain-related communities. For instance, the cafe hosted the first-ever personal event for holders of the ever-so-famous Fluffy Polar Bear NFTs.

Piya (USA, Miami)

Piya is the first crypto-related restaurant set to hit Miami. Although the diner is not yet open, and a location is undecided thus far, it will offer three restaurants in one—a Thai-infusion restaurant, a private omakase dining room, and a casual area where crypto enthusiasts can host events.

Moreover, the restuarant will soon launch a collection of NFTs used for membership to the restaurant. Only collectors of the NFTs will be able to eat at the restuarant and enjoy the facilities.

A presale is already taking place, with the tokens estimated to raise around $5 to $7 million used for building the dining and event space.
