Twitter Backs NFTs with Impressive New Integrated Trading Tools

After Elon Musk officially took over Twitter, the site’s development team announced that NFT Tweet Tiles will soon be available.

Quick Take:

  • Twitter reveals NFT trading tools that allow collectors to showcase NFTs and link to a participating marketplace with a single Tweet.
  • Twitter launched the useful new service with four top marketplaces.
  • The platform is testing the service thoroughly, and users can expect a full roll-out soon.

In partnership with four marketplaces, Twitter now lets users buy, showcase, and sell NFTs via tweets. Additionally, NFT Tweet Tiles allow users to view an NFT’s artwork in a tweet panel and click on the marketplace listing.

The connection is in beta testing and now works with four marketplaces:

  • Flow blockchain developer Dapper Labs and
  • Sports-centric platform Jump.trade,
  • Solana-centric marketplace Magic Eden, and
  • Multi-platform NFT marketplace protocol Rarible.

Due to the blockchain’s inherent flexibility, this upgrade has added support for Tezos, Solana, Ethereum, Flow, and Immutable X Polygon. As mentioned, Twitter is testing the service fully, and users can expect a full rollout in near future.

The minor change in Twitter will allow for greater flexibility in creating and promoting NFT platforms, and it will likely be a welcome aesthetic addition for anybody interested in NFTs.

NFT Tweet Tiles appear to expand the hexagonal brand logo and NFT authentication mechanism.

Not to mention, over the past year, NFT sales have plummeted, falling 22.01% from the previous month. Monthly NFT sales totalled $423.91 million, bringing the total amount sold above $40 billion this month.

Twitter’s constant support for NFTs

Twitter began accepting NFTs as verified profile photos through its own Twitter Blue membership in January; however, it presently only accepts Ethereum NFTs. Other prominent social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram, are also expanding their use of NFTs.

Though Musk has previously mocked these assets, including Twitter’s choice to allow verified NFT profile pictures, he could bring more NFT features.

With these changes, Twitter may avoid falling farther behind its competitors in the crypto adoption race. Twitter’s new leadership under Musk provides an opportunity for these blockchain features to become a reality, despite the fact that doing so would be difficult.
