About Masters of the Universe NFTs
Mattel’s Masters of the Universe action figures have been a hit for forty years—releasing toys, comics, animated series and more.
Now, it’s time for Mattel and Cryptoys to join forces and put an innovative spin on these all-time classic figures and celebrate MOTU’s 40th anniversary with NFTs.
The Masters of the Universe NFT collection will consist of 10,000 NFTs for all characters across 7 rarity levels—all of which will represent the first toy company NFTs to join the Cryptoys platform.
This unique partnership means that fans of all ages can engage with their favorite characters in new and exciting ways.
“With a unique ability to remain at the forefront of pop culture for 40 years, Mattel’s Masters of the Universe collection has an extremely high consumer awareness level and stop collectability value”,
commented Mike DeLaet, Global Head of Gaming at Mattel, in a blog post.
This new proposal will allow collectors to own 12 of the iconic action figures. The first drop of NFTs will include He-Man/Prince Adam, Evil-Lyn, Battle Cat/Cringer.
Additional characters, Orko, Teela, Beast-Man, Trap-Jaw, Skeletor, Sorceresses, Panthor, and Man-At-Arms, will appear in the second drop.
The Illuminerdi (like the best of us) is stoked about this upcoming launch:
What’s in the Pipeline for MOTU
All drops will launch from November 2022 to January 2023 on the Cryptoys platform.
Once purchasing a MOTU NFT, it can be kept ‘wrapped’ or ‘unwrapped’, depending on how you want to interact with it.
As the drops continue, Mattel and Cryptoys will also launch a metaverse universe. Thus, collectors can use their characters for online gameplay.
