Tennessee whiskey giant Jack Daniel’s pours new Web3 initiatives with Yahoo Creative Studios for an upcoming project around music NFTs featured in an augmented reality (AR) game.
Quick Takes:
- Jack Daniel’s teamed up with Yahoo to create a Web3 project that features music NFTs in an AR game.
- Players can unlock music NFTs, among others, when discovering and opening Jack Daniel’s AR “crates”. The crates are then storable in Yahoo’s custom-built digital wallet.
- The creates include numerous types of rewards: drink coupons, a trip to the Tennessee distillery, and music tracks from three iconic Australian bands. New ones will be dropped every day.
Jack Daniel’s AR Game Experience
In a joint effort, Jack Daniel’s and Yahoo are preparing to launch an AR-based game similar to Pokémon GO. Therefore, the game utilizes a map-centric approach to disperse AR rewards and Jack Daniel’s packages in numerous locations across five Australian cities.
Upon discovering one of the whisky brand’s AR crates, players can unlock it and receive a digital copy of the corresponding digital asset. New crates, therefore rewards, will be dropped every day.
Moreover, within the crates, gamers can unveil exclusive content and rewards. Such advantages include free beverage coupons, a trip to Jack Daniel’s distillery in Tennessee, and 2,000 exclusive music tracks from iconic Australian bands — Stand Atlantic, Winston Surfshirt, and Psychedelic Porn Crumpets.
Gamers can then store the collectible items in a custom-built digital wallet designed by Yahoo. Another perk includes granting the Australian musical talents ongoing royalties.
This endeavor results from Jack Daniel’s trademark to enter the NFT and metaverse arena in September last year.
Consequently, the famous whisky brand now has the rights to aspire to enthrall customers with an amalgamation of exclusive music and boozy incentives through Web3.
