NFT Lately discusses all things Halloween with the curator of a gothic NFT drop dubbed “BEYOND THE WINDOW”
Can you tell me about yourself and your project “BEYOND THE WINDOW”?
I am the founder of MERCURY DASHA, a physical and digital fashion and art brand. We do fashion-art NFTs, digital style for metaverse and gaming alongside physical fashion attire.
BEYOND THE WINDOW was a take or ‘remix’ of our initial fashion NFT collection, DARK ARTS. In that collection, we presented a small edition of couture looks inspired by voodoo and the occult, sitting within the broader themes we explored in the brand, and gave them away as ten unique NFTs.
I had the idea of presenting that collection again, showing all the fashion pieces but giving it a ‘spooky’ Halloween theme for the season.
What made you decide to create a Halloween-related NFT project?
It was a coincidence because we had already explored dark-looking themes like this in our brand. So, creating a small collection of NFTs for Halloween was a natural extension of some of the themes already explored.

What does Halloween mean to you?
This is a fascinating question because the genesis of Halloween as a religious event, from a spiritual/occult event to a celebration of individuality and everyone’s inner freak and desire to play dress-up, is very much some of the themes at the core of the brand.
Specifically, we explore societal themes like spirituality in an artistic way, but we also explore the idea of having fun and exploring fashion through visual arts, experimentation, and dress-up. That is where digital fashion and NFT art piece comes into play.
What makes your project unique compared to others circling the space?
I have yet to see any Halloween-specific projects that explore Halloween beyond just a fun opportunity to dress up like a ghoul, ghost, or celebrity. Also, I see a few fashion NFT projects that use NFTs to showcase fashion in a visual arts context, which is equally crucial to the piece.
What have been the biggest hurdles for growth so far?
Money – we could grow faster with some investment – which is what we are working on now. I also think education is vital – as so many people don’t understand this space.
Do the NFTs open opportunities to win physical items from your fashion collection?
Not this one, but they will link in the future – so keep your eyes peeled!
What’s in the pipeline for your project?
We will continue to do limited edition physical collection drops and the next ones will link to either existing NFT drops or new ones.
Moreover, we want to integrate physical and digital art and fashion formats.
Do you have anything else Web3-related to look forward to this Halloween?
I like how it has become an opportunity to have a party, and I will undoubtedly be aiming to participate in that!
